2023-2024 Quorum Court Committees

Quorum Court Committees and Chairs for 2023-2024 are listed below. After Republican County Judge Allen Dodson appointed Committees and Chairs on January 20, 2023, Dodson’s nominee for chair of the Courts & Public Safety Committee withdrew and that Committee elected a new Chair.

JPs marked * are members of only one committee, so roughly half the Court serves on two committees. JPs marked ++ served on that Committee during the 2021-2022 term.

JPs marked +++ are new but from the same District as the previous JP on that Committee.

JP Justin Knight (R – Dist. 1), named as Chair of the Infrastructure Committee, held the same position during the 2021-22 term.

Republicans still hold an 11-seat majority on the Court, as they did during the 2021-22 term. However — unlike during the 2021-22 term — the Court’s two Democrat JPs are assigned only one committee and neither have been designated as Chairman.

Although the County Judge names committee members, committees choose their own chairman, if the designated chairman allows.
