Judge’s Denial of FOIA Request Gains Media Attention

As part of our project addressing Judge Baker’s use of county resources (email system) for electioneering, we submitted a FOIA request for his email records; however, the County didn’t respond within the allowed legal timeframe. In October, 2018 we filed a FOIA lawsuit and obtained a judge’s order that required the Judge to release the information.

Conservative radio talk show host Dave Elswick of 101.1 FM The Answer interviewed our attorney, Joey McCutchen of Ft. Smith, about the matter on the air on 11/1/18:

Paul Harrell from Conduit News interviewed Bob Gregory on November 9, 2018:

In addition, the Arkansas-Democrat wrote news articles about our FOIA lawsuit:

“Faulkner County Judge Faces Lawsuit Over Emails”
“County Judge Releases Emails After Suit”
“County Judge Cited in Records Law Case”

as well as publishing an editorial:

“Pure arrogance: FOIA lawsuit” on 11/4/18.
