On Reallocation, Facts Matter

I received the flyer regarding “Reallocation” and was truly disturbed and disappointed by the County Judge taking such a hard, One Sided Opinion on this issue.

While the Judge obviously has an personal opinion, isn’t it his responsibility to let the PEOPLE understand exactly what is being voted on and ALL the facts surrounding the vote?

The Judge fails to let people know where the money is to be used.

The Quorum Court decided it was time to look at expenditures and needs of the county and vote on adjusting the allocation of the tax. The JUDGE fails to let people know where the money is to be used, but his flyer insists that taxes are “being taken away from roads and keeping Faulkner County from moving forward.”

Nowhere on the flyer does he tell you that the money is to be used for the Sheriff’s Office, Animal Control, and 911 System — departments that have needed and asked for much needed funds. The question might be asked, “Isn’t agreeing to this reallocation a way to avoid Raising Taxes in the immediate future?”

I totally believe that EVERYONE has a Constitutional right to his/her opinion. I just believe that the responsibility of the JUDGE’S ELECTED OFFICE demands a more transparent view of a given issue.

My personal opinion is that the Sheriff’s office has been denied long enough — and MY SAFETY is high on my list of priorities. I support law enforcement and, given the current violent situation in so many parts of the country, I feel we need to show that support.

Personally I will say YES to this reallocation.
