Second November Budget Meeting: Museum Shortfall

At its second meeting in November, the Budget Committee announced and unanimously voted to amend two Ordinances they approved last week in order to provide additional money for the Museum, which has run short of operational cash.

The Committee met for less than five minutes immediately before the November 15 Quorum Court meeting. County Clerk Margaret Darter explained that Section 12 was added to Ordinance 22-49, Monthly Appropriations, to “pay utility bills” at the Museum.

Because the Museum is “short on fines,” Darter explained that Section 7 was also added to Ordinance 22-51, Holiday Bonus Pay, to move $368.91 into the salary fund to properly pay for Museum holiday bonuses.
