JPs OK Library Board Appointment & December Ordinances

At the brief December Quorum Court meeting Tuesday night, JPs approved numerous changes to the County Personnel Manual, while also approving monthly appropriations as well as the Ordinance specifying how the County’s $10 million in unencumbered ARP money will be spent and the appointment of Kellie Cardin to the Library Board.

County Treasurer Scott Sanson reported “we are going to finish out a little bit over $14 million in revenue for County General for the year.” Sanson also said that sales tax through November, at $1,198,628, is still running higher than 2022 (6.44% over November 2022 and 4.02% higher year-to-date). Total sales tax should come in at about $13.8 million, Sanson added.

County Judge Allen Dodson also complimented the Quorum Court “on the way you conducted business” at this last meeting of 2023.
